Those listings attribute brief negative descriptions to Travers; they do not establish his full argument or a rating. A separate, full review by Glenn Kenny at RogerEbert.com is not Travers’ review.
What is verified about Peter Travers’ review?
Moviebuff’s critic listing attributes the line “Vin Diesel gives us sequel no one wanted” to Peter Travers of Rolling Stone. Plex also carries a short excerpt attributed to Travers, describing the franchise’s return through extreme-sports stunts and “lunk-headed espionage.” Both are secondary listings, not the original Rolling Stone review, so they can indicate a negative reaction but cannot confirm the complete review, its precise wording in context, or a star rating.

Do not confuse it with Glenn Kenny’s review
A full review of the film surfaced at RogerEbert.com, written by Glenn Kenny and published January 20, 2017. Kenny describes a stunt-heavy sequel with a thin plot, while finding the later action more entertaining and praising Donnie Yen’s martial-arts work. Those are Kenny’s observations, not evidence of what Travers wrote.

What is the film about?
Paramount identifies xXx: Return of Xander Cage as a 107-minute, PG-13 action-adventure. Vin Diesel returns as Xander Cage, recruited to lead a team of adrenaline-seeking allies against mercenaries who have stolen a high-tech weapon that threatens global security. D.J. Caruso directed the film, from a screenplay by F. Scott Frazier.
The ensemble includes Donnie Yen as Xiang, Deepika Padukone as Serena, Kris Wu as Nicks, Ruby Rose as Adele Wolff, Tony Jaa as Talon, Nina Dobrev as Becky, Toni Collette as Jane Marke, and Samuel L. Jackson as Augustus Gibbons. Paramount’s film page provides the official synopsis, metadata, and cast list.

What can viewers reasonably take from the available criticism?
The short Travers attributions suggest he was unimpressed by the sequel, but they are too limited to support a detailed account of his reasoning. A broader critical discussion can consider how the film balances stunt spectacle and action clarity, its international ensemble against a double-cross-heavy espionage plot, its deliberately excessive comic tone, and the appeal of Vin Diesel’s returning star persona. These are useful ways to assess the movie, not a verified summary of Travers’ full review or a claim of critical consensus.

Paramount’s page lists digital viewing, but it does not establish which services currently carry the film in a particular country. Revolution Studios announced U.S. home-media plans in 2017: Digital HD was scheduled for May 2, with 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD scheduled for May 16. The announcement said the 4K UHD and Blu-ray combo packs included more than an hour of special features. These are historical release details, not confirmation of present-day stock or streaming availability.
