The Pokémon TCG expansion Scarlet & Violet—Paradox Rift was released on November 3, 2023. Select retailers began selling its Build & Battle Box for prerelease play on October 21, 2023; that earlier date was for prerelease, not the general expansion launch.
When did Paradox Rift come out?
Pokémon listed November 3, 2023, as the expansion’s release date in its official product information, preview, and press schedule. This is the English-language international release information presented by The Pokémon Company International; it should not be read as a separately verified launch date for every territory.
Why does October 21, 2023, also appear?
Pokémon said select retailers would begin selling the Paradox Rift Build & Battle Box on October 21, 2023, so players could take part in prerelease battles. It was an early-access product and event date, not the general release date for the expansion. See Pokémon’s prerelease announcement for that distinction.
What was included in the expansion?
Paradox Rift’s theme brings together Ancient and Future Pokémon. Pokémon highlighted Ancient Pokémon such as Roaring Moon ex and Sandy Shocks ex alongside Future Pokémon such as Iron Valiant ex and Iron Hands ex. Other Pokémon named in the expansion’s official product information include Garchomp ex, Mewtwo ex, Armarouge ex, and Gholdengo ex.
