The 40-plus-minute broadcast also included PlayStation Plus catalog announcements. This is a historical recap of what Sony announced at the event; release dates and catalog plans below are reported as announced then, not checked against their present status.
When and where the June 2025 State of Play aired
Sony scheduled the broadcast for June 4, 2025, at 2 p.m. PT, 5 p.m. ET and 11 p.m. CEST, with the event notice also listing June 5 at 6 a.m. JST. It was billed as a 40-plus-minute show streaming on YouTube and Twitch. Sony’s event announcement gave the schedule.
The two biggest date and game announcements
Silent Hill f received a release date
Silent Hill f was announced for PS5 on September 25, 2025. PlayStation described it as a standalone spinoff following Shimizu Hinako in her hometown as it is engulfed by fog. The announcement presented it as a possible entry point to the series, rather than a direct continuation that requires familiarity with earlier games.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles brings back the strategy RPG
Square Enix’s enhanced return of the 1997 strategy RPG was announced for PS5 and PS4 on September 30, 2025. PlayStation highlighted fully voiced dialogue, an updated user interface, graphical improvements and quality-of-life features. A companion Square Enix post also discussed a Squire difficulty setting.

What the showcase’s mix tells you
The broadcast’s clearest concrete news was a pair of dated releases, several other specific launch dates, and a pair of hardware reveals. Other segments were updates rather than full release announcements: some supplied a gameplay premise or trailer, while others gave only a broad window or no timing. The official recap does not establish review quality, performance or how the games ultimately turned out, so the announcement list is best read as a record of what Sony presented that night—not a ranking or a current release guide.
