Perth television presenter Tracy Vo announced in September 2024 that her son, James Connolly, had died after five months of pregnancy. In a post reproduced by PerthNow, Vo said James arrived at 4:20pm on August 15, 2024. She later shared more about the medical circumstances and her decision to deliver.
What Tracy Vo announced about James
PerthNow reported on September 6, 2024, that Vo had shared the death of her baby, which she said occurred in August after five months of pregnancy. The report reproduced her Instagram post, in which she named her son James Connolly and wrote: “We named you James Connolly. You arrived at 4.20pm August 15, 2024.”
Vo also wrote: “I carried you for 5 months, but you just weren’t meant for this world.” She described the short time she and her partner spent holding James. The August 15 date is the arrival date Vo gave; September 6 is the date PerthNow published its report.
What Vo later said about the medical circumstances
The initial announcement did not explain the medical circumstances. In later accounts, Vo described concerning scan findings, further testing and a decision to deliver following medical concerns. A March 2026 interview report characterized that decision as a termination for medical reasons.

In a podcast transcript published August 13, 2026, Vo recalled waiting until 20 weeks, seeking a second opinion from another ultrasound clinic in Perth, and being told “there was a global issue” and “James just wasn’t growing.” Those are Vo’s retrospective descriptions, not an independently verified diagnosis: the available reports do not include medical records or a clinician’s account.
Because the medical context came in later interviews, it should not be read back into the September 2024 announcement, which simply said her baby had died. Later coverage describes a termination for medical reasons; that is distinct from calling the loss a miscarriage.

Vo’s later public appearances have included remembering her son by name. An official Nine / 9Now segment page, added March 24, 2026, identifies Vo as a Red Nose Day ambassador and describes the segment’s theme as the importance of “saying his name.” The description documents the focus of the appearance; it does not establish a broader explanation from Vo for every reason she has chosen to share her story.
A March 2026 interview report also says Vo later welcomed daughter Mila in October 2025. This is part of the timeline reported about her family, not a replacement for or resolution of the loss she described.
