Jem Wolfie said her OnlyFans content would stay the same after the platform announced a planned restriction on sexually explicit content in August 2021. The change was due to begin on 1 October, but OnlyFans suspended it on 25 August—before it took effect. Wolfie’s statement was her own assessment of her content, not evidence that the platform had formally reviewed or approved her account.
What Jem Wolfie said about the proposed restriction
In a report published on 21 August 2021, PerthNow quoted the Perth-based creator saying: “My OnlyFans content is staying exactly the same I do not fall under explicit content, which is basically like full-on porn which I don’t do.” PerthNow reported Wolfie’s response as the platform’s proposed change was drawing attention.

Her explanation described how she viewed her own material. The report did not establish that OnlyFans had assessed her account against the proposed rules or issued a formal decision about it.
What OnlyFans had proposed—and when
On 19 August 2021, OnlyFans announced that it planned to prohibit content containing “sexually-explicit conduct” from 1 October. The announcement said nudity would still be permitted subject to the platform’s Acceptable Use Policy. Contemporary reporting attributed the proposed restriction to requests from banking partners and payout providers.

The distinction matters: the announcement concerned a planned restriction on sexually explicit conduct, not a ban on all nudity. And it did not become an active 1 October policy. On 25 August, OnlyFans suspended the planned change.
Why the proposed ban was reversed
OnlyFans said it had “secured assurances necessary to support our diverse creator community” and had “suspended the planned October 1 policy change.” A spokesperson told TechCrunch that the changes were “no longer required due to banking partners’ assurances that OnlyFans can support all genres of creators.” TechCrunch reproduced the platform’s statements.
The cited coverage does not disclose the terms of those assurances. It supports the sequence—OnlyFans initially cited pressure from banking and payout partners, then said partner assurances meant the planned restriction was no longer required—but not a more detailed account of what the partners agreed to.

How creators and advocates reacted
The proposed change raised concerns among Australian sex workers and creators about the consequences of relying on a subscription platform whose rules could change. ABC News reported on those concerns, including one creator’s plans to prepare a backup platform. That reporting documents individual concerns and planning; it does not establish that any particular alternative service was better or that all creators experienced the same effects. ABC News covered creators’ and advocates’ responses.

Julies Kim, CEO of Scarlet Alliance, Australian Sex Workers Association, called the proposed change “incredibly disappointing and a rather baffling decision given that adult content and sex workers have built OnlyFans.” Her comment was a criticism of the proposal, not a statement about the later suspension.
The timeline at a glance
| Date | What happened |
|---|---|
| 19 August 2021 | OnlyFans announced a planned restriction on sexually explicit conduct, scheduled for 1 October; nudity was to remain permitted under its Acceptable Use Policy. |
| 21 August 2021 | PerthNow reported Wolfie’s statement that her content would remain unchanged because she did not consider it explicit. |
| 25 August 2021 | OnlyFans suspended the planned October change before its scheduled start. ABC News reported the reversal the following day. |
ABC News reported the suspension on 26 August 2021. The proposed ban described in the PerthNow headline is therefore a historical, abandoned policy plan—not a change that took effect on 1 October 2021.
