Yes, both Penta and Rey Fénix expect the Lucha Brothers to team again, but neither has given a date. Their comments point to a reunion they want to happen at the right time—not a WWE-confirmed match or scheduled storyline.
What Penta said about a reunion
In a July 15, 2026 report, eWrestling attributed comments to Penta from an interview with the Dallas Morning News. Penta said he expects the brothers to come together again, but added that he does not know when. As reported, he said: “When? I don’t know exactly, but (for) now, I’ll enjoy this this kind of season in my life, in my career, in singles.”
He described both brothers as building their careers separately and said he believed the Lucha Brothers would be back at some point. The comments express Penta’s expectation; they do not identify a WWE date, match, or angle. Read eWrestling’s report.
Rey Fénix also says they are waiting for the right moment
In a September 22, 2026 interview with POSTA Deportes, Rey Fénix said they were prepared for a reunion when the right moment arrived: “Sabemos que va a llegar a su momento; el momento correcto va a llegar y nosotros estamos preparados para ello.” In English: “We know our moment will come; the right moment will come and we are prepared for it.”

What WWE’s schedule has—and has not—confirmed
WWE’s August 27, 2026 listing promoted Penta versus Rey Fénix in the final of a World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament. It said the winner would challenge Roman Reigns in Mexico City on September 14. That is dated evidence of their singles careers, not an announcement that they would reunite as a tag team. There is no date in either wrestler’s reported comments, and the cited WWE listing does not schedule a tag-team reunion. The clearest answer is that both anticipate returning as the Lucha Brothers, but when—or how WWE might book it—remains unknown.
