The Nickelodeon actor who publicly identified himself as the child victim in Brian Peck’s 2004 case is Drake Bell. In Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV, Bell described Peck’s influence on his life and career; in a 2025 conversation with former co-star Josh Peck, he spoke about memory difficulties and the strain of returning to familiar production spaces. Those recollections are Bell’s account, distinct from the court’s findings.
Who was Brian Peck’s victim?
Bell disclosed in the 2024 documentary Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV that he was the child actor victim in the case. The victim had not been publicly identified in earlier reporting about the prosecution. Bell’s disclosure brought renewed attention to the case and to his experience.
In a March 14, 2024 transcript, CNN quoted Nickelodeon responding: “Now that Drake Bell has disclosed his identity as the plaintiff in the 2004 case, we are dismayed and saddened to learn of the trauma he has endured and we commend and support the strength required to come forward.” This was the network’s statement at that time, not a current statement.
What did Bell say he remembered?
Peck’s influence on his life and career
In the documentary, Bell described Peck as gaining influence over his life and career. The account focuses on Bell’s experience and should not be treated as proof of what other people knew or as a court finding about every allegation discussed in the series.

Returning to familiar production spaces
In a 2025 report on Bell’s conversation with Josh Peck on the Good Guys podcast, the Los Angeles Times described Bell recalling how difficult it was to return to production spaces during the investigation. The same report records Bell saying he has trouble remembering many things. These are Bell’s own recollections; they do not establish a broader explanation for his memory.
Drake Bell and Josh Peck are former co-stars, not relatives. Brian Peck is unrelated to Josh Peck, the Los Angeles Times clarified.
What was established in Brian Peck’s case?
CNN reports that Peck was arrested in 2003 and convicted in 2004. Its transcript describes the charges as lewd acts with a child and oral copulation. Peck received a 16-month prison sentence; the Los Angeles Times also reported that he was required to register as a sex offender. These are the procedural outcomes to distinguish from other allegations recounted in the documentary, which were not all adjudicated in this case.
What did the letters supporting Peck show?
Unsealed court documents included 41 letters asking the judge for sentencing leniency, the Los Angeles Times reported in 2024. The figure describes the letters found in those documents; it is not a measure of abuse prevalence, public opinion, or what each writer knew about Peck’s conduct.

Director Mary Robertson told PBS NewsHour that the production company sought to unseal them: “And throughout the course of our reporting, our company petitioned the court to unseal these letters, which had been sealed for decades.” Robertson also said questions remained about what letter writers knew and whether anyone had asked or pressured them. The existence of a support letter alone does not answer those questions.
Rider Strong and Will Friedle later expressed regret
Former Boy Meets World colleagues Rider Strong and Will Friedle said they had written letters supporting Peck and later regretted doing so, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Friedle said on the Pod Meets World podcast, “We were sitting in that courtroom on the wrong side of everything.” The Inquirer noted that neither Strong nor Friedle accused Peck of touching them inappropriately.
What did Nickelodeon say about older allegations?
In its response quoted by CNN on March 14, 2024, Nickelodeon said it could neither corroborate nor negate allegations concerning productions from decades earlier. The network also described its policy for formal complaints and said it had adopted safeguards. That statement is a description of the network’s position, not an independent finding about what happened or what particular people knew.
