The reported after-credits scene in PSYCHO-PASS 3: FIRST INSPECTOR leaves room for another story, but it does not confirm a fourth season. A secondary summary describes Akane Tsunemori contacting inspectors Arata Shindo and Kei Mikhail Ignatov about an event from two years earlier. Production I.G, meanwhile, describes the film as bringing the story begun in season three to a conclusion.
What happens in the reported after-credits scene?
A secondary summary of FIRST INSPECTOR reports that Tsunemori contacts Shindo and Ignatov after the credits and says she will explain an event that occurred two years earlier. That sets up a question about the characters’ past and suggests there may be more story to tell. The official pages reviewed do not provide a transcript or confirm that the scene appears in every release version. Wikipedia’s film summary is the source for the scene description.

Does the scene confirm Psycho-Pass season 4?
No. A sequel hook is not evidence that a fourth television season has been commissioned, scheduled, or formally announced. The Production I.G film page presents FIRST INSPECTOR as the work following season three and says the story of the two new inspectors reaches its conclusion in the film. Those statements can coexist: the season-three story can conclude while a later installment remains possible.
The official franchise site reviewed for this article features the PROVIDENCE film and links to FIRST INSPECTOR and season-three material, but its visible content did not announce a fourth season. That does not rule out a separate announcement elsewhere; it means the scene itself should not be presented as confirmation.

What does First Inspector conclude?
FIRST INSPECTOR continues the story of PSYCHO-PASS 3, set in Tokyo in 2120. Shindo and Ignatov are divided over truth and justice as Koichi Azusawa attacks the Public Safety Bureau and targets the Criminal Investigation Department. Production I.G describes the film as resolving the story of the two inspectors introduced in the third season.
Fuji TV identifies PSYCHO-PASS 3 as the franchise’s third television season and records its broadcast as ending on December 12, 2019. Its listing describes the season as following Shindo and Ignatov as new inspectors. Fuji TV’s season listing.

Why might the after-credits scene seem to be missing?
The available sources do not establish whether the scene is included in every theatrical, disc, or regional streaming cut. In particular, they do not verify that Amazon Prime Video—or any other service—removed it. A viewer’s territory, platform, and version matter when investigating a specific omission; without an authoritative release-specific source, the claim that a service cut the scene remains unconfirmed.
If you are checking a copy you watched, compare the exact territory and edition with a reliable account of that version’s contents. The franchise site has a Blu-ray/DVD section, but that alone does not establish that a particular disc includes the scene or that it is compatible with your region.

What viewers can safely conclude
- FIRST INSPECTOR follows season three and was presented by Production I.G as concluding that season’s story.
- A secondary source reports a post-credits conversation in which Tsunemori promises to explain an event from two years earlier.
- The scene can be read as a tease for more narrative material, not as an official season-four announcement.
- The reviewed sources do not establish that every theatrical, home-video, and streaming version contains the same scene.
