Duke University commencement
About a week earlier, on May 12, students walked out during Seinfeld’s commencement address at Duke University; some chanted “free Palestine” in protest of his support for Israel. Reuters reported that he delivered the speech without major interruptions. Duke spokesperson Frank Tramble said the university respected peaceful expression “without preventing graduates and their families from celebrating their achievement.”
