The reported Windsor Farm Shop outing was not a medical update. PerthNow reported on 18 March 2024 that Catherine, Princess of Wales, had been seen shopping with Prince William near their Windsor home; the description that she looked “happy, relaxed and healthy” was an eyewitness impression relayed through The Sun, not a clinical assessment. Four days later, Catherine said post-operative tests had found cancer and that her medical team had advised preventative chemotherapy.
What was reported about the shopping trip
PerthNow’s 18 March 2024 report, citing The Sun and an eyewitness, said Catherine and Prince William had visited Windsor Farm Shop near Adelaide Cottage. The witness reportedly described Catherine as “happy, relaxed and healthy.” The Guardian later also described footage published by The Sun amid public speculation about her health.
The account does not independently establish the exact details of the outing, what was purchased, or Catherine’s medical condition that day. A person’s appearance in a reported sighting cannot establish recovery or provide a diagnosis.
What Kensington Palace had said about her surgery
On 17 January 2024, Kensington Palace announced that Catherine had undergone planned abdominal surgery and that it had been successful. The palace said she was expected to remain in hospital for 10–14 days before continuing her recovery at home, and was unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.

The palace also asked the public to understand her wish for privacy around her personal medical information. Its statement described the expected hospital stay and public-duty timetable; it did not disclose a diagnosis.
What Catherine said four days later
In a public statement on 22 March 2024, Catherine said: “However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.” She added: “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
That statement changed the context surrounding the earlier report, but it does not establish what Catherine’s condition was when she was reportedly seen at the shop. The sighting should not be treated as evidence of her treatment response or prognosis.
