A review describes it as a lift-the-flap read-aloud book drawing on folklore and history, with subjects including Rosetta, Li Chaowei, Neferure, Nukka and Scheherazade. Its title may suggest a broad survey, but the available descriptions establish examples—not a comprehensive account of princesses or cultures.
What is Princesses From Around the World?
The exact-title book is credited to author Katell Goyer and illustrator Misstigri and published by Auzou. The cited English-language bibliographic record gives ISBN 9782733829516. The Auzou distributor catalog lists the same title and ISBN; the Midwest Book Review describes it as coffee-table-sized and lift-the-flap. Those records identify the book, but do not establish one universal format or current retail availability. Midwest Book Review, Children’s Bookwatch, November 2014; Auzou distributor catalog.
Which princesses and stories are included?
The Midwest Book Review says the book draws on folklore and history and names Rosetta, the Chinese princess Li Chaowei, Egyptian princess Neferure, Nukka and Scheherazade. This is the review’s account of the book’s subjects; it does not establish that every figure is presented as a biography, or independently verify historical claims. The named examples suggest a mix of traditions and figures rather than a single kind of story. Midwest Book Review.
What format and age range are listed?
Edition details differ across listings. The Midwest Book Review calls the English-language book a lift-the-flap read-aloud gift book, while a Noorart Arabic-language listing describes a hardcover edition of 32 pages, gives ISBN 9789948153559, and lists ages 9–12. That age guidance and those physical details belong to that Arabic-language listing; they should not be assumed for every edition. Check the language, ISBN and format on the specific listing before choosing a copy. Noorart Arabic-language listing.

Is there a related book about princesses from multiple regions?
A Book of Princes and Princesses by Ruth Manning-Sanders, illustrated by Robin Jacques, is a separate folklore collection—not another edition of Goyer’s book. Google Books describes the 2023 Mab Media edition as a 114-page reproduction of the first edition published in 1970. Bookshop.org describes tales from Yugoslavia, Russia, Ukraine, France, Italy and Kashmir. It may suit readers looking for a collection explicitly presented as fairy tales, with the qualification that it includes princes as well as princesses. Google Books; Bookshop.org listing.
How to identify the right book
- For Katell Goyer’s exact-title book, use ISBN 9782733829516 to distinguish the cited English-language bibliographic record.
- If you are considering an Arabic-language copy, Noorart lists ISBN 9789948153559 and describes that edition as a 32-page hardcover for ages 9–12.
- For the Manning-Sanders anthology, search by its separate title and author; it is an adjacent folklore option, not the same book.
Princess books and folklore across regions
A 2013 Mt. Lebanon Public Library reading list groups children’s books about princesses within regional folklore selections, including examples associated with West Africa, Central America, Ireland, Egypt, Persia, Russia and China. That offers context for finding related reading, but does not verify the accuracy of any specific tale or establish that any one book represents all of these traditions. Mt.
