What is known about Harry and Meghan’s Christmas plans?
As of October 8, 2026, no final Christmas itinerary has been announced in the reporting available. The current account of a possible difference in preference comes from an anonymous source cited by Heatworld and repeated in an IBTimes UK report. It should not be treated as a public statement by either Harry or Meghan, or as evidence that either has made a final decision.

Why a Christmas in Britain is possible
The Associated Press reported on August 19 that Harry and Meghan had decided on an extended return to the United Kingdom beginning in fall 2026. The report said they would retain their home in Montecito and would not resume working royal roles. AP also reported that the children had enrolled at British schools. In September, it reported that they changed schools after the family discussed practical arrangements with its security team. Does their royal status or security review decide the question?

The Guardian reported on September 14 that RAVEC would reconsider Harry and Meghan’s publicly funded police protection after their return as full-time UK residents. At the time of that report, a decision for Harry had not yet been received, and a new assessment for Meghan was described. That security review is separate from the question of Christmas attendance. What the July accommodation dispute does—and does not—show
