The claim that a president could reveal aliens exist in the “near future” is documentary director Dan Farah’s prediction, not an announcement or promise from President Donald Trump. In an interview published November 21, 2025, Entertainment Weekly reported Farah’s view that a sitting president would eventually tell the public humanity is not alone. Government releases of UAP-related records in May 2026 show records activity, but do not confirm extraterrestrial life or make Farah’s forecast a fact.
What Dan Farah said about a presidential announcement
In a November 21, 2025 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dan Farah, director of The Age of Disclosure, predicted that a sitting president would eventually make a public statement about humanity not being alone. Farah said: “I think it’s only a matter of time before the release of this film is followed by a sitting president stepping to the podium and telling the world, ‘We’re not alone in the universe.’ It’s the most significant moment a leader could possibly have.” (Entertainment Weekly, November 21, 2025.)
That is Farah’s expectation, not a quotation from Trump or an official White House position. The article also reported Farah’s account that Trump had learned “the base facts” and had his team trying to learn more. Those details were Farah’s characterization of information he said he had received; the article did not independently establish them. Entertainment Weekly said the White House had not immediately responded to its request for comment.
Farah also said he hoped the documentary would lead the U.S. government to reveal everything it legally could about UAP and nonhuman intelligent life. That was his hope for disclosure, not confirmation that such a disclosure had occurred.

What the 2026 government records releases show
Department of War PURSUE pages describe an effort to identify and release government records related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). Search-result information identifies releases dated May 8 and May 22, 2026. These dates document a records-release process; they do not, by themselves, establish that the records confirm aliens.
AARO describes unresolved cases as those for which the government cannot make a definitive determination about the observed phenomena. “Unidentified” therefore means not definitively identified—not extraterrestrial. GovInfo, the government publishing platform of the Office of the Federal Register and the National Archives and Records Administration, catalogs a presidential exchange with reporters dated April 29, 2026. Its subject classification includes the release of government files on extraterrestrial life, UAP, and UFOs. That catalog entry establishes the document’s date and subject classification; it does not establish that the president announced extraterrestrial life. (GovInfo, April 29, 2026.)
What AARO has—and has not—concluded
In its March 2024 historical report, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) said it found no evidence that U.S. government investigations had confirmed extraterrestrial technology or life. That is AARO’s conclusion about the records and claims it reviewed; it is not a claim that every sighting has been identified or resolved. (AARO Historical Record Report, March 2024.)

The distinction matters when interpreting both Farah’s prediction and new file releases: a government record can document an observation, investigation, or unresolved case without establishing an extraterrestrial explanation. The available evidence here does not quote a president confirming alien life.

The Age of Disclosure is the context for Farah’s forecast, not proof of it. Entertainment Weekly reported that the documentary interviewed 34 U.S. government, military, and intelligence-community officials; that number describes the film’s interviewees as reported by the magazine, not independent confirmation of extraterrestrial life. The same article said the film was available to stream worldwide on Prime Video on November 21, 2025, and available for digital purchase pre-order in the United States then. Those are release-time details, not a guarantee of current availability in any particular region.
