Prime Target is an eight-episode conspiracy thriller about a Cambridge mathematician whose work on prime numbers draws dangerous attention, and the NSA agent assigned to monitor him. Season 1 premiered on Apple TV+ on January 22, 2025, and its finale arrived March 5, 2025.
What is Prime Target about?
Edward Brooks (Leo Woodall), a postgraduate mathematics student at Cambridge, is close to a breakthrough involving prime numbers. Taylah Sanders (Quintessa Swindell), an NSA agent tasked with watching mathematicians, is assigned to keep tabs on him. When an unseen enemy tries to stop Brooks, the two investigate a wider conspiracy.

How many episodes are in Season 1?
Season 1 has eight episodes. The first two premiered together on January 22, 2025, followed by one episode each Wednesday, with the finale released March 5, 2025. Apple’s premiere announcement set out that release schedule.

Where can I watch Prime Target Season 1?
Apple TV is the series’ official viewing destination. Apple lists Apple TV 4K among the devices that access the service, but the streaming box is optional: Apple TV is also available on other supported screens and devices. Who made the series, and who is in the cast?
Steve Thompson created Prime Target and served as an executive producer. Brady Hood directed all eight episodes and was also an executive producer. Apple says the series was produced for Apple TV+ by New Regency and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.
Alongside Woodall and Swindell, the cast includes Stephen Rea, David Morrissey, Martha Plimpton, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jason Flemyng, Harry Lloyd, Ali Suliman, Fra Fee, and Joseph Mydell. Apple’s series page lists the cast and creative team.

Is the mathematics in Prime Target real?
The series uses prime numbers and a mathematical breakthrough as a thriller premise. Apple’s official synopsis does not establish Brooks’s discovery as a real result, so it should be understood as fiction rather than a documented advance in number theory.
