The biggest reveal was Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, planned for a global simultaneous launch in 2027.
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are coming to Nintendo Switch 2
The presentation offered a first look at Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, upcoming entries in the Pokémon RPG series. The Pokémon Company International’s official roundup describes an open world of windswept islands and ocean waves, alongside new protagonist designs, special Pikachu and a new first partner Pokémon.

The games are announced as Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives, with a global simultaneous launch planned for 2027. The roundup does not give a more specific release date.
Console game announcements and updates
Pokémon Champions
The February announcement said Pokémon Champions was set to launch on Nintendo Switch in April 2026. It also outlined an early-download Dragonite gift and a campaign to obtain Mega Stones for Pokémon that can Mega Evolve in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The roundup points to the official Pokémon Champions site for Pokémon HOME connectivity details. These were plans and offers as described at the time, not confirmation of current availability.

Pokémon Pokopia
A new video introduced Stereo Rotom, also called DJ Rotom, which plays CDs found during the adventure. A Greedent character teaches cooking, and players can visit one another’s towns or invite friends to play together, with up to four people supported. The February article listed 5 March 2026 as the launch date.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension
The presentation revealed Mega Garchomp Z and described planned Pokémon HOME connectivity. Players would be able to send Pokémon from Legends: Z-A to HOME and add select Pokémon from past games to their team. The roundup also said that transferring Pokémon to the Nintendo Switch version of HOME would grant alpha Chikorita, Tepig and Totodile as Mystery Gifts in the mobile version.
FireRed and LeafGreen return
Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version returned on the Nintendo Switch family of systems. The official article says the rereleases retain the original Game Boy Advance experience and that caught Pokémon can be transferred to Pokémon HOME.
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness on Nintendo Switch 2
Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness was announced for Nintendo Switch 2 in March 2026 through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The roundup specifies that Pokémon raised in XD cannot be transferred to other titles, and Pokémon from other games cannot be transferred into XD.
World Championships and PokémonXP
The 2026 Pokémon World Championships were planned for San Francisco’s Chase Center. Competitors in the Video Game category would battle in Pokémon Champions; other championship competitions would use the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Pokémon GO and Pokémon UNITE. The Pokémon Company International’s February roundup reported that “Over three thousand players will battle in San Francisco this August to become the next World Champions!” This was a forward-looking figure attributed in the announcement to Pokémon Global Esports and Events Director Chris Brown.
The inaugural PokémonXP was planned for the Moscone Center alongside Worlds. Activities described in the announcement included interactive exhibits, pin trading, cosplay showcases, panels, hands-on workshops, an on-site Pokémon Center store and partner collaborations.
Trading cards and the Game Boy Jukebox
The Pokémon TCG segment showed classic cards and teased physical products commemorating 30 years of Pokémon, planned for release during 2026 in participating markets. The roundup did not name a set, box or card design, so the announcement supports a broad anniversary-product tease rather than a specific product identification.

The presentation also featured a named collectible: the Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox. The official roundup describes a player designed to resemble and sound like a Game Boy, packaged with 45 cartridges that play music and sound effects. It directs readers to Pokémon Center; it does not establish current stock or availability through other retailers.

Pokémon TCG Pocket
The Pokémon Day campaign included limited-time missions and rewards, among them accessories celebrating 30 years of Pokémon. The US article gave the campaign window as 27 February through 26 June 2026.
Pokémon GO
The roundup announced a Kanto-themed event for 3–6 March, Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global for 28 February–1 March, and a three-day event bringing back a large range of Pokémon for 7–9 March 2026. It also listed the promo code GOTOURKALOS for a first partner Pokémon.
Pokémon UNITE
Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres were announced as playable characters, with their Unite licenses available through a limited-time event. The presentation also teased an Electrode Volleyball world tour.

The presentation marked the franchise’s 30th anniversary and the game’s 6.5-year celebration with Red (1996) & Pikachu, Florian (Anniversary 2026) & Ogerpon, and Juliana (Anniversary 2026) & Terapagos.
