Later accounts describe an initial split in late November and a face-to-face conversation in mid-December, so the breakup and the announcement were not the same event.

DeSorbo addressed speculation that Bravo had asked her to wait until an episode of Southern Charm or Summer House aired. As reported by Us Weekly, she said, “No one can tell me what to do,” and added, “The network has power, but they don’t have that much power.” Her direct response to the claim was: “That is not a real thing.”

Those are DeSorbo’s reported remarks, not independent evidence about Bravo’s internal communications. The available accounts establish her denial; they do not establish whether the network discussed announcement timing internally.

The timeline includes more than one relationship milestone. DeSorbo’s later comments, as reported by Bravo, distinguish an initial breakup from a subsequent conversation and the public announcement.

In the February 2025 account, she said the announcement came after the holidays and after she saw Conover on a trip presenting himself as single. She explained that they had been broken up for a month and that she wanted to say so and move forward. In Bravo’s later report on her reunion comments, DeSorbo said they had not discussed how the public announcement would work; she decided to make a podcast statement after realizing he was on vacation and acting single.

The contemporaneous account records DeSorbo denying that Bravo directed her timing, while subsequent Bravo coverage reports her explanation for the gap between the initial split and the announcement. Neither account independently verifies the network’s internal decision-making. Bravo also reported in January 2025 that DeSorbo called some online theories “fan fiction” and said there was no single major event behind the breakup: Bravo’s January 3 report.
