Margaret Qualley opened the James Bond tribute at the 97th Academy Awards with a dance performance, followed by LISA, Doja Cat and RAYE singing Bond-film themes in that order. The segment aired during the March 2, 2025, ceremony at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood.
Who performed in the 2025 Oscars James Bond tribute?
The segment combined dance and three songs. Associated Press coverage described it as a four-part tribute, beginning with Qualley and dancers before the singers took the stage.
- Margaret Qualley opened with a dance to the James Bond theme.
- LISA performed Wings’ “Live and Let Die.”
- Doja Cat performed “Diamonds Are Forever,” made famous by Shirley Bassey.
- RAYE performed Adele’s “Skyfall.”
How the songs connect to the Bond films
Each singer took on a title song associated with a James Bond film. “Live and Let Die” is from the 1973 film of the same name; “Diamonds Are Forever” is associated with the 1971 film; and “Skyfall” is the theme song for the 2012 film.
Why the tribute was part of the ceremony
Halle Berry introduced the tribute. The segment honored the James Bond franchise in the context of Honorary Oscars presented to longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson at the recent Governors Awards.
