Who are Aqua and Ruby?
Aqua and Ruby are Ai Hoshino’s twins. They also carry memories of lives before their births, a secret that shapes how they understand their family and their future. The series’ official story introduction frames their past-life memories as part of the story’s central setup.
Ai was the center of the idol group B-Komachi. Her death becomes the defining event in the twins’ lives, but they respond to it differently: Aqua pursues the truth behind it, while Ruby wants to become an idol like her mother.
Why does Aqua enter the entertainment industry?
Aqua’s work as an actor is not separate from his search for answers. The industry gives him access to people and productions that may connect to Ai’s past. In Season 1, he accepts a drama opportunity after recognizing the producer’s name from Ai’s phone, as described in the official Episode 3 summary.

By the Season 1 finale, B-Komachi is performing onstage. Ruby’s smile recalls Ai’s, linking the group’s new beginning to the mother whose legacy she hopes to carry forward. The official Episode 11 summary describes the performance and Ruby’s moment in the spotlight.
