“Nothing beats a Jet2holiday” is an advertising slogan that became the punchline to a TikTok meme. Creators pair Jet2holidays’ cheerful advert audio with footage of holiday mishaps, awkward moments or chaos. The joke is the mismatch between the polished promise and what the video shows—not evidence that the people filmed booked with Jet2holidays.
What does “Nothing beats a Jet2holiday” mean?
It can mean either Jet2holidays’ advertising slogan or, in social-media context, the viral audio used in ironic videos. The sound combines Jess Glynne’s song “Hold My Hand” with a spoken sales message from the advert. Jet2holidays announced a refreshed national campaign on 23 December 2022, describing the song as the campaign’s “upbeat and recognisable backdrop.” Jet2holidays’ campaign announcement said the adverts would feature young couples, couples and families.
Why is the sound used in chaotic holiday videos?
The advert audio sets up a carefree, polished holiday; the footage then undercuts that mood with a mishap, embarrassment or other chaos. That contrast makes the slogan sound knowingly overconfident. The format can work with vacation bloopers and other travel misadventures, even when the clip has no connection to Jet2holidays. Forbes noted in July 2025 that most videos using the sound were vacation bloopers unrelated to the company. Forbes’ explanation of the trend describes the sound as a 12-second clip.
How did the meme develop?
- 23 December 2022: Jet2holidays announced the refreshed campaign featuring “Hold My Hand” and the “nothing beats a Jet2holiday” message. This is the firm campaign date.
- January 2024: Know Your Meme records an official Jet2 advert video using the song as a source for the sound later used in the trend. This is a secondary-source timeline detail, rather than the campaign’s original announcement date.
- 2024–2025: Users paired the upbeat audio with chaotic or dangerous footage. Know Your Meme dates one example, a camel clip, to 1 November 2024; Forbes described renewed visibility in July 2025.
- 21 April 2025: Know Your Meme records Jet2’s official TikTok account joining the format. The brand’s later participation does not mean it originated the user-made joke.

Are the TikToks official Jet2holidays adverts?
No. The slogan and campaign sound come from Jet2holidays, but a creator using that audio is not automatically making an official promotion. A video also does not establish that the people shown are Jet2holidays customers. The meme’s joke often relies on that apparent contrast between the advert’s promise and an unrelated clip.
