The confirmed M3GAN screen story currently has two released films: M3GAN and M3GAN 2.0. Watch them in release order. Universal also groups them in a two-film home-video bundle, while SOULM8TE has been described as a M3GAN-universe spinoff but its current release status is not established by the available official information.
What is the M3GAN cinematic universe?
For a viewer choosing what to watch, the clearest answer is the two-film core: M3GAN followed by M3GAN 2.0. Universal identifies M3GAN as one of its film franchises and lists a two-movie “Bestie Bundle” containing the films. That is firm evidence of a shared franchise and a practical watch order, not proof of a larger slate of released or scheduled crossover stories.

Universal’s M3GAN 2.0 page presents the sequel as the return of the killer android. In its story, an autonomous android built as a weapon threatens Cady, and M3GAN persuades her creator Gemma to upgrade her for the confrontation. The page classifies the film as action, science fiction, and dark comedy.
What order should you watch the M3GAN movies?
- M3GAN — start with the original film.
- M3GAN 2.0 — continue with the 2025 sequel.
This is release order and the straightforward way to follow the franchise’s central characters and premise. No alternate viewing order is needed for the two confirmed films.

What to know about M3GAN 2.0
Gerard Johnstone directed and wrote M3GAN 2.0 from a story by Johnstone and Akela Cooper; Universal credits the characters to Cooper and James Wan. The official page lists a runtime of two hours and a PG-13 rating for strong violent content, bloody images, some strong language, sexual material, and brief drug references. These are the listing’s stated details, not a claim about how every viewer will respond to the film.
Where can you watch or buy the films at home?
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment announced digital purchase for M3GAN 2.0 beginning July 15, 2025, followed by a September 23, 2025 street date for 4K UHD and Blu-ray. Its release announcement promoted more than 30 minutes of bonus content and an unrated cut available with purchase. Those dates describe the announced release schedule; check a retailer’s current listing for availability and the exact contents of a particular edition.
Rank #2
Universal’s current title page lists digital purchase, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions of M3GAN 2.0, including an unrated edition. It also lists the M3GAN 2-Movie Bestie Bundle in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. The official listing establishes the formats, but not a retailer’s current stock, price, or precisely which features are included with every copy.
- Want both films together? Look for the “M3GAN 2-Movie Bestie Bundle” in the format you use.
- Choosing a sequel edition? Compare the listed format and whether the listing explicitly identifies the unrated edition.
- Buying for bonus content? Check the specific listing’s feature details rather than assuming every format or retailer edition has identical extras.
For a physical copy, the searchable phrase “M3GAN 2-Movie Bestie Bundle Blu-ray” can help locate the bundle. Verify the seller, edition, and included features before purchasing.

Is SOULM8TE part of the M3GAN universe—and is it still coming?
Blumhouse news-index headlines have described SOULM8TE as a film out of the “M3GAN” universe and as a spinoff. That establishes prior project context, but does not settle whether the film remains in production or has a current release or distribution plan. No current date should be treated as confirmed on that basis alone.
Accordingly, regard SOULM8TE as a reported universe expansion, not as a released entry or a title with a confirmed current schedule. The information available here also does not establish a crossover or a broader shared slate beyond the two official M3GAN film listings.
