Nine footballers with Northampton roots were commemorated in metal figures unveiled on Hampton Road, outside the Miner’s Arms Hotel, on 13 November 2021. The tribute honoured their ties to the Western Australian town and celebrated careers that, together, the The West Australian reported had produced 1,718 AFL games, 1,626 goals and five premierships.
Who is represented in Northampton’s metal figurines?
The installation depicts nine players with Northampton connections:
- Harry Taylor
- Andrew Lockyer
- Josh Kennedy
- Jamie Cripps
- Patrick Cripps
- Daniel Chick
- Paul Hasleby
- Tarkyn Lockyer
- Liam Anthony
As reported by The West Australian on 14 November 2021, the nine were credited with a combined 1,718 AFL games, 1,626 goals and five premierships. Those are the newspaper’s totals for the group, not a separate tally of any one player’s record.
Where were the figures unveiled?
The figures were unveiled on Hampton Road, Northampton’s main street, outside the Miner’s Arms Hotel on Saturday, 13 November 2021. The report says eight of the nine players attended. Tarkyn Lockyer, who lived in Victoria, could not make it because of border complications.

Hundreds gathered for the unveiling. A community-centre function followed, with about 300 guests, player interviews and signings, according to the report.
Why did Northampton create the tribute?
The idea had first been floated three years before the unveiling. Organizers hoped the figures would honour the players’ hometown links and encourage visitors to stop in, bringing more foot traffic to Northampton. That was an aspiration reported in 2021, not evidence of a measured tourism effect or a guarantee about visiting today.

- John F. Kennedy Statue: Our statue is great for your house or office desk decoration.
- Rich in Details: Due to the high-precision characteristics of 3D printing, John F. Kennedy statues are very rich in details, such as subtle changes in facial expressions, etc., which can be well represented.
- Note: The cost of 3D printing wire is higher than that of plaster resin and other mold-over materials, with a lower density, making it unsuitable for outdoor underwater applications requiring counterweight.Printing a single piece can take several hours, making it suitable only for rapid prototyping of niche designs and challenging to mass produce on a large scale.Due to the limitations of FDM printing process, there may be some layering and fine burrs that do not affect the overall effect.
The players’ remarks reflected that sense of connection. Patrick Cripps recalled growing up in town: “We’re all proud Northampton boys, we all loved growing up here,” he said. Paul Hasleby described the tribute as “quite humbling and an honour for all of us,” and said more people stopping in would be positive for the town.
At the event, the Miner’s Arms also launched a beer called 9 Legends Lager. The 2021 report did not name its producer or establish whether it is still available.

Can you buy the Northampton figures?
The cited reporting describes a public installation; it does not identify a retail version, maker, price, replica or seller. It therefore does not establish a way to buy or order these figures. Commercial football figurines are a separate category: the Corinthian Museum documents a collection of football figures, and the National Football Museum’s Corinthian figurines page covers their place in football memorabilia collecting. Neither source connects those collectibles to Northampton’s installation or its nine players.
