No—Nobara Kugisaki does not die in the completed Jujutsu Kaisen manga. Mahito’s attack in Shibuya leaves her gravely injured and her status uncertain, but Chapter 267 reveals that she survived, awakened from a coma, and returned to help Yuji fight Sukuna.
What happened to Nobara in Shibuya?
In Chapter 125, Nobara confronts Mahito during the Shibuya Incident. His Idle Transfiguration strikes her face, and the scene is presented as potentially fatal. Yuji is devastated, but the story does not confirm that she has died.
Afterward, Arata Nitta tells Yuji he cannot promise Nobara is alive, while also saying her condition has not worsened. That leaves her fate unresolved: she is gravely injured, but the chapter does not establish a confirmed death. VIZ’s official chapter catalog lists Chapter 125 and the series’ subsequent chapters.
Why did readers think Nobara was dead?
The attack is brutal, the scene gives no immediate recovery, and the characters do not receive a definite answer about her condition. The manga then withholds a clear update for a substantial stretch of the story. That combination makes her death seem plausible, but the long silence is not proof that she died.

When does the manga reveal Nobara survived?
Chapter 267 resolves the uncertainty. Nobara has survived and awakened from a coma. She uses her Straw Doll Technique, Resonance, on Sukuna’s last finger. The strike disrupts Sukuna at a crucial moment and gives Yuji an opening in their final confrontation. VIZ’s Chapter 267 page places the reveal in the chapter sequence; its listing dates the following chapters, 268–271, to September 2024.
Is Nobara alive at the end of Jujutsu Kaisen?
Yes. By the end of the completed manga, Nobara is alive. The Shibuya scene is an apparent death and prolonged unresolved fate, not her actual death. VIZ identifies Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 30 as the final volume on its official series page.

What about the anime?
The answer above describes the manga. Anime adaptation status can differ by release date and region, so do not assume the Chapter 267 reveal has appeared in the episodes available to you. The official anime character page includes Nobara in its Shibuya Incident section, but that page alone does not establish how far the adaptation has reached.
