Una niña de cinco años cayó al mar desde la cubierta 4 del Disney Dream el 29 de junio de 2025, mientras el barco regresaba a Fort Lauderdale. Su padre saltó al agua para ayudarla y la tripulación rescató a ambos. La Oficina del Sheriff de Broward aclaró que él no la sostenía cuando ocurrió la caída. Qué ocurrió a bordo del Disney Dream
El incidente ocurrió cerca de las 11:30 a. m. del 29 de junio de 2025, entre las Bahamas y Port Everglades, cuando el Disney Dream volvía de un viaje a las Bahamas hacia Fort Lauderdale. La niña tenía cinco años y cayó desde la cubierta 4. Su padre saltó al agua después de ella; la tripulación del barco rescató a ambos, según la información comunicada por la Oficina del Sheriff de Broward y recogida por medios locales.
Disney Cruise Line dijo a Local 10 que la tripulación rescató rápidamente a dos huéspedes del agua. Qué dicen los reportes posteriores sobre la foto y el ojo de buey
Los detalles de la foto y la abertura no proceden de la primera aclaración pública sobre el rescate. En octubre, People en Español y Local 10 publicaron información atribuida a un memorando policial o de la fiscalía. Según esos reportes, la niña se sentó en una barandilla para que le tomaran una foto y cayó hacia atrás por una abertura tipo ojo de buey, descrita por la cobertura como desprovista de cubierta.

Esos pormenores deben atribuirse al memorando tal como lo describen los medios: no se trata aquí de una revisión directa del documento original. La fiscalía no presentó cargos contra la madre
El 21 de octubre de 2025, medios informaron que la Fiscalía Estatal de Broward decidió no presentar cargos de negligencia infantil contra la madre tras revisar el caso. La decisión se refiere a la posibilidad de presentar cargos penales; no es un fallo civil ni una conclusión general sobre la seguridad de los cruceros.

La información pública permite establecer la fecha, el barco, la cubierta desde la que cayó la niña, el rescate de padre e hija y la corrección de la versión inicial sobre el padre. Los detalles de la foto, la barandilla y la abertura provienen de reportes posteriores que describen un memorando; conviene mantener esa atribución al relatar cómo ocurrió la caída.

Las fuentes consultadas no aportan una estadística adecuada sobre la frecuencia de caídas similares ni sobre las tasas de rescate, así que este caso por sí solo no permite medir el riesgo en los cruceros. Disney informa que ofrece chalecos de flotación de cortesía para uso en piscinas, pero esa información no establece una medida preventiva para una caída al mar a través de una abertura.
