Nicole Kidman recalled asking her Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgård to put away a falafel sandwich before a kissing scene because she was supposed to be kissing him and be “into” him. The story explains her objection to bad breath; the quoted account does not show her calling the scene her worst on-screen kiss or ranking it against other kisses.
What Nicole Kidman said about the falafel
Kidman shared the anecdote during the “I Don’t Think So, Honey” segment of the March 11, 2026 episode of Las Culturistas, according to TV Insider’s March 12 report. She said bad breath is a deal-breaker for her, describing how she would recoil if she asked someone to breathe on her and disliked the smell.

She then recalled Skarsgård eating falafel before they filmed a kissing scene on Big Little Lies. As TV Insider reproduced her remark: “No, no, no, Alex. I am meant to be kissing you and into you. Put away the falafel now.” Us Weekly and Fox News also reported the anecdote.
Was Alexander Skarsgård her worst on-screen kiss?
The reports reviewed do not establish that. The “worst on-screen kiss” wording is stronger than Kidman’s quoted account: she objected to bad breath before a scene, but the reproduced remarks do not explicitly rank that kiss as her worst ever. The anecdote names Skarsgård and describes one moment on set, not a comparative judgment about her screen partners.

Who were Kidman and Skarsgård in Big Little Lies?
Kidman played Celeste Wright, while Skarsgård played her husband, Perry Wright. The falafel story concerns preparing to film a scene between their fictional characters. It is not evidence of a real-life relationship or a reported response from Skarsgård.

TV Insider’s account is secondary reporting that quotes Kidman from the podcast; it is not a podcast transcript. The corroborating Us Weekly and Fox News articles are also entertainment coverage. The remarks should therefore be understood as reported quotations from the episode rather than as independently verified transcript text.
