News reports say Peck pleaded no contest to two charges and was sentenced to 16 months in jail. Bell discussed his experience in the series, but did not give graphic specifics in the documentary or a subsequent Today interview.
What did Drake Bell reveal in Quiet on Set?
Bell, known for Nickelodeon programs including The Amanda Show and Drake & Josh, disclosed that he was the previously unnamed child connected to Peck’s case. The child’s identity had not been made public in court at the time, NPR reported.
In the documentary, Bell described Peck cultivating a relationship with him, including through their shared interest in classic Hollywood, and becoming his acting coach. That is Bell’s account of how the relationship developed, not a finding reported from the criminal court. The Los Angeles Times’ account of the documentary says Bell avoided sharing specific details on camera; coverage of his Today interview likewise described him as not recounting specifics. The focus is on his disclosure and its impact, not a graphic retelling.
Bell said publicly speaking about the experience felt freeing, ABC News reported. In a later interview, the Los Angeles Times reported that he cited his young son as a reason for coming forward. Those are Bell’s descriptions of his feelings and motivation.

What happened in Brian Peck’s 2004 case?
News reports say Peck pleaded no contest to two charges and received a 16-month jail sentence in 2004. NPR reported that outcome in its coverage of Quiet on Set; ABC News also summarized the plea and sentence and reported that Peck was required to register as a sex offender. A no-contest plea is not a trial verdict, so the case should not be described as a finding of guilt after trial.
Bell’s public identification in 2024 connected his own account to the case whose child complainant had previously remained unnamed in public reporting. The reported plea and sentence establish the legal outcome; Bell’s documentary account is his personal account of what happened to him.
What did Nickelodeon say?
After Bell disclosed his identity, Nickelodeon issued a statement reported by The Washington Post: “Now that Drake Bell has disclosed his identity as the plaintiff in the 2004 case, we are dismayed and saddened to learn of the trauma he has endured, and we commend and support the strength required to come forward.” This is the network’s response to Bell’s disclosure; it does not establish what particular executives knew, or when they knew it.

Dan Schneider’s legal dispute with the documentary’s makers is separate from Peck’s criminal case. The Associated Press reported that Schneider sued the makers and alleged the series wrongly implied he sexually abused child actors. Those are allegations in a separate dispute, not the charges or case outcome involving Peck.
