Spoilers for the Entertainment District and Swordsmith Village stories. Nezuko’s “new demon form” can refer to two different developments: the dangerous combat transformation she undergoes while fighting Daki, and her later breakthrough that lets her survive in sunlight. The first changes her appearance and power; the second changes what the story’s demons can do to her.
What does Nezuko’s new demon form mean?
In the Entertainment District Arc, Nezuko’s appearance changes as her power surges during the fight with Daki. It is best understood as an intensified battle state—not the same event as her later ability to withstand daylight. The U.S. anime site’s synopsis for Entertainment District episode 7, titled “Transformation,” describes Nezuko’s appearance taking on a demon form as she overpowers Daki, then turning toward injured bystanders (official episode synopsis).
That loss of control matters: the transformation gives Nezuko more power, but it also makes her a threat to people she would ordinarily protect. Tanjiro has to stop her before the fight’s danger spreads to the injured civilians nearby.
How is the Daki fight different from Nezuko conquering the sun?

So, if a scene shows Nezuko’s body changing as she fights Daki, it is the earlier combat transformation. If the question is why she no longer has to avoid the sun, that is a later story development. “Conquering the sun” means surviving sunlight and being able to act during daytime; it is not another name for her Daki-fight appearance.

When does Nezuko survive sunlight?
The sunlight breakthrough happens during the Swordsmith Village story, as dawn approaches while Tanjiro pursues Hantengu. Shueisha’s Japanese listing for Demon Slayer volume 15 frames the approaching dawn as a danger to Nezuko and includes chapters 125–132, placing the crisis in that volume (Shueisha’s volume 15 listing). VIZ lists chapters 126 and 127 as consecutive installments around this story beat (VIZ chapter listings).
The anime’s official Hashira Training Arc character page later states the outcome retrospectively: after conquering sunlight, Nezuko can be active during the day (Nezuko character page). The page confirms the result, rather than offering a detailed causal explanation for how it happened.

Why can Nezuko withstand sunlight?
The official summaries cited here establish that Nezuko survives sunlight and can be active during the day, but they do not establish a definitive mechanism for her resistance. It would go beyond these sources to state as fact that a particular herb, family trait, medicine, demon blood, or her refusal to eat humans caused the breakthrough.
When discussing a proposed explanation, distinguish between what the story explicitly confirms, what a character suggests, and what fans infer. The confirmed outcome is clear; these official summaries do not settle the cause.
