Overhaul is the villain name of Kai Chisaki, a Shie Hassaikai executive whose Quirk lets him disassemble and reconstruct matter he touches. His childhood and the reported link between his Quirk and Decay add context to his story, but those details rely on a fan-maintained synopsis rather than the official character profile.
Who is Overhaul?
Kai Chisaki, known as Overhaul, is associated with the Shie Hassaikai, a yakuza organization. The official anime character profile describes him as an executive and says he sought to revive the organization using Eri’s Quirk. It also says Deku defeated him.
Afterward, Overhaul was imprisoned in Tartarus. The official profile states that Shigaraki severed his arms, a decisive loss for someone whose Quirk depends on touching what he alters.
What does Overhaul’s Quirk do?
Overhaul can disassemble and reconstruct objects he touches. In practical terms, Chisaki can take matter apart and rebuild it, using the same basic ability for destruction, restoration, and reshaping. The official profile gives that core description; the fan-maintained Quirk reference adds combat applications such as reshaping terrain and attacking opponents.

The available profile material does not establish precise limits for the Quirk, such as its maximum range, the mass it can affect, or how quickly a particular reconstruction can occur. Those details should not be treated as fixed mechanics based on these summaries alone.
What is known about Chisaki’s past and beliefs?
A fan-maintained story synopsis says Chisaki lived in an orphanage associated with Kyudai Garaki. It attributes his belief that Quirks were a disease to a theory he read as a child: that Quirks originated from a virus carried by mice.

How are Overhaul and Decay connected?
Major later-story spoiler: The fan-maintained synopsis reports that All For One took a duplicate of Overhaul, removed its restoring ability, and that the resulting destructive version became Decay. The official character profile does not mention this connection. The synopsis supports reporting it as a claim about the story, but it is not enough on its own to establish precise manga details or chapter references.
