Kin’emon tries to contact them without success, and the chapter closes by pointing to an unexplained incident from the previous night—not by confirming who caused it.
What happens in One Piece manga chapter 958?
The present-day Wano storyline turns the promised meeting point into a crisis. Momonosuke and the Nine Red Scabbards arrive, but the allied forces they expect—including the Straw Hats—and their ships are nowhere to be found. The group cannot get through to its allies.
Momonosuke suggests changing the rendezvous date. Kin’emon attempts to reach the missing forces, but no one answers. With their plans suddenly uncertain, Ashura Doji notices signs that the port may have been attacked, while Inuarashi prepares to set out alone. The closing tease directs attention to something that happened the previous night. This is the chapter’s unresolved question; the scene does not establish the culprit or explain what happened.
Why are Momonosuke and Kin’emon’s allies missing?
The chapter presents their absence as a mystery rather than a solved plot point. The missing ships, failed contact, and Ashura Doji’s observation raise the possibility that the port was attacked, but that possibility is not confirmation of who is responsible—or even a complete account of the incident. The final reference to the previous night sets up the explanation to come.
