One Piece Chapter 1120 offers a thematic hint about what kind of treasure the One Piece may be: the story ties the search to buried history and the consequences of uncovering it. But “Atlas” does not reveal the treasure’s physical form or contents, so it is a clue about the mystery’s meaning—not a canon answer to what the One Piece is.
What Chapter 1120 actually adds to the mystery
VIZ lists Chapter 1120 under the title “Atlas” and dates its official English listing July 21, 2024. The chapter’s flashback brings Clover and Vegapunk’s work into focus: after Ohara is destroyed, the effort to investigate the lost century continues. That thread emphasizes the danger and importance of recovering historical truth.

Read alongside the unresolved mystery of D., this history gives the treasure hunt a larger context. The One Piece is not presented simply as a prize detached from the world’s past; the chapter invites readers to consider how the buried history and the treasure are connected. That is an interpretation of the chapter’s emphasis, not a direct identification of the treasure.
Why the clue is thematic, not a description of an object
The distinction matters when asking “what kind of treasure the One Piece is.” Chapter 1120 does not say the treasure is a poneglyph, a manuscript, or any other specific object. It depicts people pursuing knowledge of the lost century, but that does not establish that the One Piece itself is historical records. The chapter supports a connection between the mystery and buried history; it leaves the treasure’s material form unknown.

Atlas’s sacrifice reinforces the chapter’s emotional focus on carrying responsibility forward. Her actions belong to the present-day events and resonate with the transmission of knowledge across generations. They do not, on their own, explain what the treasure contains.
What the next chapter adds—and what remains open
The reported continuation in Chapter 1121 links the fate of the world to whoever obtains the One Piece. This raises the stakes of the search: finding it has consequences beyond an individual’s ambition. But a consequence is not a description. The world’s fate being tied to the treasure still does not tell readers whether it is an object, a body of knowledge, or something else.

It helps to keep four kinds of evidence separate when weighing theories:
- Chapter 1120’s events: the Clover–Vegapunk flashback, the lost-century investigation, and Atlas’s sacrifice.
- Established historical mysteries: the Void Century and the unanswered questions around D.
- Later developments: Chapter 1121’s reported link between the treasure and the world’s fate.
- The treasure itself: its actual contents or physical form, which these points do not identify.
Where to read Chapter 1120
VIZ’s official English Chapter 1120 page lists the chapter as “Atlas” and gives July 21, 2024 as its date. One Piece Wiki’s chapter guide reports July 15, 2024; the two dates may reflect different release or date conventions, but the reason for the discrepancy is not established here. For the official English listing, use VIZ’s date.
