What did “three Grammys for SOUR” mean?
The phrase can blur three different kinds of recognition. The album itself won Best Pop Vocal Album; Best New Artist recognized Rodrigo, and Best Pop Solo Performance recognized “drivers license.” The official 64th Annual Grammy Awards winners list identifies the song as the winner in the solo performance category.
The Recording Academy’s Best Pop Vocal Album announcement states that Rodrigo won the award for SOUR at the 2022 Grammys.
