She told PEOPLE that a claim against his insurance might have brought her family “some millions.” She did not say she regretted having her children: she said she was grateful for them and would not do too much differently.
What does Octomom regret most?
In a PEOPLE interview published March 5, 2025, and updated the next day, Suleman said she regretted not suing Kamrava, the fertility specialist who treated her. “I do regret not suing the infertility doctor,” she said, adding that a payout from his insurance “would’ve been helpful for my family.”

That potential payout is Suleman’s own retrospective speculation, not an established legal outcome. The interview does not show that a lawsuit would have succeeded or establish how much she could have recovered.
Why didn’t she sue the doctor at the time?
Suleman said she felt grateful for the procedure and did not have it in her to sue Kamrava then. Looking back, she said, “I regret that I kind of threw myself under the bus to cover for him, and I shouldn’t have but I was grateful.” Her account is specific to her feelings and choices at the time; it does not establish any further motive.
#1 Best Overall
What happened with the embryo transfer?
Suleman said she had hoped for “just one more” child in her last pregnancy. PEOPLE reported that Kamrava initially told her he had implanted six embryos and later admitted that he had implanted 12. The outlet also reported that he lost his medical license. The Independent likewise reported the 12-embryo transfer in its coverage of Suleman.
Suleman became widely known in 2009 after giving birth to octuplets, when she was already a mother of six. In a separate account, EL PAÍS reported that she had wanted a large family, but not one as large as the family she ended up with.
Rank #2
Did she sue the hospital?
Yes. Suleman said she sued the hospital over disclosure of her medical information—a separate matter from not suing Kamrava. The Independent reported that Kaiser Permanente’s Bellflower hospital was fined $250,000 in 2009 after 25 employees accessed her records without authorization. Those figures describe the reported hospital privacy incident, not a claim against the doctor.

No. Suleman said, “I don’t think I’d do too much differently,” and expressed gratitude for her children. Her stated regret was about not pursuing legal action against the doctor, not about becoming a mother or having the children she has.
