“Most famous” is not an objectively established ranking here: the available list names four prominent Notts County supporters but gives no ranking method, survey or fame metric. Its selection is screenwriter Billy Ivory, jockey Hayley Turner, singer-songwriter Saint Raymond and musician Jake Bugg. Bugg’s connection is best documented in the sources reviewed; claims about Turner and Saint Raymond’s supporter histories should be attributed to the list.
What “four most famous” means
C.F. Classics names Ivory, Turner, Saint Raymond and Bugg as notable Magpies supporters, but does not explain how it chose them or rank them against other fans. There is no published count or survey in the cited material to establish that they are definitively Notts County’s four most famous supporters. The profiles below are therefore a sourced selection, not a measured top four.
Billy Ivory: screenwriter and Meadow Lane spectator
C.F. Classics describes Billy Ivory as an award-winning screenwriter born in Southwell and a “big Magpies supporter.” More directly, Ivory’s 2016 article for Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature discusses watching Notts County at Meadow Lane with writer John Harvey and refers to the club’s matchday programme. It documents a personal connection to the club, but does not establish how often Ivory attended or whether he has a current role with Notts County.
Hayley Turner: jockey from Nottingham
The C.F. Classics list identifies Hayley Turner as a flat-racing jockey born in Nottingham and says she has supported the Magpies from an early age. That supporter-history claim is attributed to the list; the sources cited here do not include a direct statement from Turner or an official club profile confirming it.

Saint Raymond: musician with a local connection
C.F. Classics identifies Saint Raymond as a singer-songwriter from nearby Bramcote and says he began supporting Notts County after being taken to Meadow Lane as a youngster, attending when not touring. A 2015 Notts TV report independently places Saint Raymond and Jake Bugg among Nottingham musicians taking part in a charity football event at the club’s ground. A participant refers to “Jake’s and our band” as Notts County lads. That supports a local association, but does not independently verify every detail of Saint Raymond’s supporter history or his current attendance.
Jake Bugg: lifelong fan who backed the club
Jake Bugg, the Nottingham-born singer-songwriter, has spoken directly about supporting Notts County. In a 2018 LeftLion interview, he said, “I’ll always be a Notts County fan, and I’ll always try and help them in any way I can.” He recalled the club’s 2009–10 promotion season as a standout memory, including its high-profile signings.

His support has also been public and practical. BBC Sport reported in 2017 that Bugg had watched from the Meadow Lane stands in his youth and sponsored the front of the shirts for November as one of the club’s month-long 2017–18 kit sponsors. The BBC quoted him explaining: “It wasn’t about getting anything out of it, to be a sponsor I had to invest, it was more about helping Notts in any way I could.” This describes a historical sponsorship, not a current arrangement. A separate Nottingham Sport report from 2020 documented an away kit carrying his name and a former pre-order route through the club superstore; it does not establish present-day stock or availability.
