Nicole Richie marked her daughter’s 18th birthday with a set of rare photos in January 2026. Entertainment reports identify her daughter as Harlow Winter Kate Madden and say she goes by Kate Madden; Richie’s reported caption read, “18 years of you.”
What appeared in the birthday photos
Harlow turned 18 on January 11, 2026, according to Parade and Hola. Parade reported that Richie shared an Instagram carousel with images from Harlow’s childhood alongside more recent photos. The outlet attributed the caption “18 years of you” to Richie and said the post tagged an account using the name Kate Madden.
Hola separately reported that Richie also shared an Instagram Story photo for the milestone. These details come from the outlets’ accounts of the social-media posts; the posts are not independently verified here.
Does Harlow go by Kate Madden?
Reports say Richie’s daughter goes by Kate Madden, using her middle name. Her full name is reported as Harlow Winter Kate Madden. The reported tag on the birthday carousel also used Kate Madden, according to Parade. That supports describing Kate as the name she uses publicly, but it does not establish a legal name change. Entertainment Tonight has also framed the story as a reported name change; that wording should not be treated as confirmation of a formal legal change.
