How Strands hints work
Strands is a New York Times word-search-style game in which you connect letters on the board to make words tied to a theme. The spangram describes the theme and spans opposite sides of the board. Finding non-theme words of at least four letters earns hints; the cited game guide says one hint is awarded for every three such words.
