How NYT Pips works
Pips is a digital domino logic puzzle. Place every domino to fill the board while satisfying the conditions shown in its colored regions. Depending on the symbol, a region may require matching values, different values, a threshold, or an exact total. Unmarked spaces have no special condition. Dominoes can be rotated, which matters when their two halves land in different regions.

- Start with the Purple 5 and Dark Blue regions: the 3/0 domino connects Purple 5 toward Dark Blue 0, while 2/6 connects Purple 5 toward Dark Blue 12.
- Work across Dark Blue 12 and Dark Blue 0 into Orange 17. The next placements use 6/3, 5/5, and 0/4.
- The Blue-equals region takes 1/1, and the Blue-0 region takes 0/0. Then use the available dominoes to link Blue 0 to Pink 10 and the Blue-equals area to free spaces.
- For the final stretch, connect Purple greater-than-2 to Green 10, then place the remaining domino below it.
