This is the NYT Strands puzzle for Monday, April 21, 2025, Game #414. The theme is “What talent!” Start with the clue below, then reveal progressively stronger hints or the complete solution when you’re ready.

Today’s Strands theme clue

What talent!

For an extra nudge, think of the television show America’s Got Talent. That’s an editorial hint, not the puzzle’s official theme clue.

Spangram hint

The spangram has 11 letters. It starts at the bottom edge in column four and ends at the top edge in column two. Try finding that path before opening the answers.

Spoiler warning: the full Strands solution

The theme words are ACROBAT, JUGGLER, DUET, COMIC, MAGICIAN, and DANCER.

The spangram is VARIETY ACTS (sometimes written without a space as VARIETYACTS).

How Strands works

Strands is a themed word search on a six-by-eight letter grid. Connect adjacent letters to form words that fit the theme; paths can travel diagonally and turn. The spangram sums up the theme and touches two opposite sides of the board.

If you’re stuck, finding three valid words that are not theme answers can trigger a hint that reveals one theme word. This hint mechanic is described by Try Hard Guides and the third-party Strands.Game rules page; Strands.Game says it is not affiliated with The New York Times.
