The New York Times describes the Mini as a smaller version of its Crossword. Its Help Center says the daily Mini is available the evening before its publish date: weekday and Saturday puzzles at 10 p.m. EST the previous day, and Sunday puzzles at 6 p.m. EST on Saturday. The time-zone label here reflects the Help Center’s wording.
NYT says players solve by filling words from Across and Down clues, with the answers crossing one another. Its in-game lifesaver can check or reveal a square, an answer, or the entire puzzle. The Mini is available through subscriptions that include Games, such as All Access, Home Delivery, and Games subscriptions; listed play locations include the Games app, nytimes.com/crosswords, and the News app. Eligible subscribers can find past Minis in the archive.
