Why the last group is a wordplay clue
The purple category uses spellings that stand in for syllables in the familiar “Do-Re-Mi” song: DOE for “do,” FAR for “re,” SEW for “so,” and TEA for “ti.” The words are not all written as the musical syllables themselves; their sound-alike spellings are the connection.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How the puzzle works
Connections asks players to sort sixteen words into four groups of four, each linked by a shared thread. The guide from Try Hard Guides describes the first group as the easiest and the last as the trickiest, and says the board resets at midnight local time. TechRadar says players can make up to four mistakes and use elimination. Those are descriptions in secondary answer guides, not a freshly verified official rules statement.
