Need help with the Friday, July 11, 2025 edition of Connections: Sports Edition? Start with four spoiler-safe clues below, then reveal the category names or the complete answer groups when you’re ready. This is puzzle #291, not the standard Connections puzzle or a current daily answer.
How to approach Connections: Sports Edition #291
The puzzle uses 16 words divided into four groups of four. Its sports-specific aim is to “group sports terms that share a common thread,” according to the wording reported by Parade’s guide. Scan the board for a connection that fits four terms, but watch for plausible overlaps: teams, athletes, sports and winners can all suggest competing patterns.
This board spans Olympic combat sports, college teams nicknamed Wildcats, connections to Steph Curry and women’s golf major winners. The hint sequence below starts broad and gets more revealing.
