Spoilers: Connections #1008 answers
The solution sets for Sunday, March 15, 2026 are:
| Color | Category | Words | Connection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yellow | PURSUE | HOUND, SHADOW, TAIL, TRACK | Each can mean to follow or pursue someone or something. |
| Green | SPORTSMANLIKE | FAIR, HONEST, SPORTING, SQUARE | Each can describe fair or honorable conduct. |
| Blue | CLASSIC KID GIFTS | BIKE, BOOK, TOY, VIDEO GAME | Each is a familiar gift for a child. |
| Purple | “____ GIRL” TITLES | GONE, GOSSIP, NEW, WORKING | Each word comes before “Girl” in a title: Gone Girl, Gossip Girl, New Girl, and Working Girl. |
Why the purple group is tricky
The purple connection depends on recognizing titles rather than finding four direct synonyms. GONE, GOSSIP, NEW, and WORKING each precede “Girl”; the other three groups are built around pursuit, sportsmanlike conduct, and gifts for children.

How to approach the grid
Connections can rely on wordplay, homophones, and double meanings, so a word that seems to fit one group may be a distractor. First test a group with a specific shared phrase—such as “____ GIRL”—or a tight set of synonyms. Then check whether the remaining words form complete groups before submitting. The game format described by WePC gives players four mistakes, so avoid committing to a loose association too early.
This guide is for the March 15, 2026 puzzle, not necessarily the puzzle displayed as “today” in every time zone. The date and game number are paired here to distinguish it from other grids labeled #1008 in some guides.
