How to approach this puzzle
Connections presents 16 words to sort into four groups of four, with color-coded difficulty and a limit of four incorrect guesses, according to Tom’s Guide. Its January 11, 2024 guide says the game refreshes at midnight local device time.
- Scan all 16 words before making a guess; several may seem to fit a plausible category.
- Check for alternate meanings and pronunciations, as well as phrases and puns.
- If five words appear to belong together, look for an overlap that leaves one word out of the intended set.
Tom’s Guide reported a difficulty rating of 2.6 out of 5, attributing it to the NYT Connections Companion. The rating’s year and primary rating page were not stated, so treat it as a reported assessment rather than an objective measure.
