Spoilers: Season 7’s finale, “Battle Without a Quirk,” brings Ochaco and Toga’s confrontation to a personal turning point while All Might faces All For One in an armored support suit. The wider war, including Deku’s fight with Shigaraki, remains unresolved.

“Battle Without a Quirk” is My Hero Academia Season 7, Episode 21, and the series’ overall Episode 159. It aired on October 12, 2024. Apple TV lists a runtime of 22 minutes. The official Japanese anime episode page identifies the installment as Episode 159; the Apple TV listing labels it Season 7, Episode 21.
What happens between Ochaco and Toga?
The episode resumes their confrontation at Okuto Island. Toga has used Twice’s blood to transform and unleash a flood of Twice copies, but that transformation is temporary. As the copies begin to disappear, Ochaco is seriously injured after being stabbed; the official synopsis describes her body growing colder.
Ochaco continues speaking to Toga as a person rather than reducing her to an enemy. They exchange words and share a smile. As Ochaco’s condition worsens, Toga makes a consequential choice in response to their conversation. The scene’s weight comes from that personal exchange, not simply from one fighter overpowering the other.

How does All Might fight All For One without a Quirk?
Elsewhere in the Final War, All Might confronts All For One using an armored support suit developed with help from an American friend. The technology incorporates abilities associated with Class 1-A, letting All Might adapt those students’ powers into tactical tools despite no longer having a Quirk. His fight places technology and strategy alongside Ochaco’s attempt to reach Toga through empathy and recognition.
Does the Season 7 finale resolve the war?
No. The episode also keeps Deku’s confrontation with Shigaraki in view, and the larger conflict is still moving toward its climax. Season 7 closes with major battles at a new stage rather than bringing the war to a conclusion. The official episode synopsis and episode guide frame the conflicts as ongoing.

What gives the finale its emotional contrast?
The episode sets two kinds of power against each other. Ochaco’s close, emotionally difficult conversation with Toga turns on whether recognition can change what happens between them. All Might’s fight is a large-scale confrontation in which support technology and quick adaptation let a powerless hero challenge a major antagonist. The contrast gives the finale both an intimate human turning point and the spectacle of battles that remain unfinished.

The previous episode, “A Girl’s Ego,” ends with Toga taking Twice’s appearance and ability to overwhelm the heroes with copies while Ochaco tries to reach her. A fan-maintained episode reference says Episode 159 adapts manga chapters 395–398; that chapter range is a guide for anime-to-manga comparison, not a verified collected-volume recommendation.
