The Netflix series described as a “Bosch replacement” is most likely The Lincoln Lawyer, another adaptation of Michael Connelly’s books. But that phrase is shorthand, not an official connection between the shows—and the available sources do not verify a season-four release date or confirm that it arrives next month.
What is Netflix’s “Bosch replacement”?
The likely reference is The Lincoln Lawyer, a Netflix adaptation of Connelly’s fiction. The Associated Press identified its central character, defense attorney Mickey Haller, as Harry Bosch’s half-brother and noted that both characters originated in Connelly’s books. In the AP’s 2023 account, the series were on separate services: The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix and Bosch on Amazon Prime Video. The AP’s 2023 interview with Connelly provides that historical context.

That connection makes the two shows part of the same author’s wider fictional world, but “replacement” should not be read literally. The sources establish a shared creator and a family relationship between the characters; they do not establish that Netflix took over, continued, or produced Bosch. Nor do they establish that one series is a direct substitute for the other in tone or format.
What happened to the original Bosch and Bosch: Legacy?
Bosch
The original Bosch ran for seven seasons on Prime Video. Michael Connelly’s official television page describes the show’s season-four story as carrying forward earlier plotlines and drawing on his novel Angels Flight. Connelly’s Bosch page is useful for franchise history, though it should not be treated as a guarantee of current streaming availability.

Amazon’s February 13, 2018 announcement gave the fourth season a specific date: April 13, 2018. It had ten episodes and began with the murder of an attorney on the eve of a civil-rights trial against the LAPD; Bosch led a task force investigating the case. Those details refer to Bosch season four, not The Lincoln Lawyer. Amazon’s season-four announcement is the primary source.
Bosch: Legacy
Amazon described Bosch: Legacy season three as the series’ final season. Its ten episodes premiered on March 27, 2025, with the finale on April 17. Amazon’s synopsis follows Bosch investigating a family’s disappearance, Honey Chandler running for district attorney, and Maddie Bosch responding to violent follow-home robberies. Amazon’s season-three announcement supplies those details.
When does The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 arrive?
The “next month” wording is relative to the headline’s original publication date; it is not a usable current release date. The sources available here do not verify the exact season-four premiere date, episode count, plot, or the Connelly novel it may adapt. Do not treat the old headline wording—or the dates for Bosch season four—as confirmation of when The Lincoln Lawyer season four premieres.
For a confirmed date or season-specific details, look for an announcement from Netflix or another official source about The Lincoln Lawyer season four. No date should be stated as fact without that confirmation.

No direct television continuation is established. The evidence supports a literary connection through Michael Connelly and the characters’ half-brother relationship, while documenting the shows as separate productions on different services in the AP’s 2023 coverage. Viewers can approach them as distinct adaptations in the same authorial universe, rather than episodes of one continuous TV series.
If you want to follow the books, Connelly’s The Lincoln Lawyer novel and the Mickey Haller series are a route into the source material. That is a general reading suggestion, not confirmation that a particular book is the basis for season four.
