In July 2024, Screen Ireland said the series was set to become the largest production ever filmed in Ireland.
Where was Wednesday Season 2 filmed?
Season 2 moved production from Romania to Ireland. Netflix identifies Ashford Studios in County Wicklow as the main studio base and says filming also took place in Dublin, County Wicklow and County Offaly. Principal photography began in May 2024 and continued for six months, according to Netflix Tudum.
The production used both studio-built environments and real locations. That distinction matters: the Irish settings helped shape the season’s atmosphere, but not every place seen as Nevermore Academy or its surroundings is an actual landmark.
What does “makes history” mean?
On July 2, 2024, Screen Ireland said the production was “set to be the largest production to ever film in Ireland.” The agency made the statement during a visit to the set by Taoiseach Simon Harris and Minister Catherine Martin. It was a projection about production scale at that time, not a verified current ranking—and it does not mean Wednesday was Ireland’s first international production. Screen Ireland’s announcement is the source for the distinction.

Which real places are associated with the season?
Tourism Ireland names several locations associated with Season 2. Its list includes Powerscourt Demesne in Enniskerry, known for its waterfall and gardens; Charleville Castle in County Offaly; and Deansgrange Cemetery in Dublin. Tourism Ireland’s location guide offers these examples, but does not map every scene to a site.
Netflix describes Ashford Studios as a principal production base and discusses constructed Nevermore spaces. The series therefore combines real Irish locations with built sets rather than presenting every fictional setting as a place visitors can find on a map.

Can you visit the Wednesday filming locations?
The locations named by Tourism Ireland are real places, but the available official information does not establish that they currently offer filming-location tours or that every area is open to visitors. Check each site’s official visitor information before planning a trip, and do not assume that a production location is accessible simply because it appears on screen.

Tourism Ireland listed the two-part premiere dates as August 6 and September 3, 2025. Netflix’s current update says all eight episodes are streaming; availability can vary by territory or change over time. Tourism Ireland gives the premiere dates, while Netflix Tudum reports the episode availability.
