Original films and licensed arrivals
A Netflix original designation distinguishes a film released as a Netflix original from a catalog title added under a licensing arrangement. The schedules identify several original films, including Hubie Halloween, The Forty-Year-Old Version, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Rebecca, Over the Moon, Holidate, Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight, Bronx, His House and The Day of the Lord. The same month brought licensed titles such as Moneyball, Unfriended, ParaNorman and Carol.

The October 22 and October 23 groupings above avoid assigning a licensing label where the schedules do not establish one clearly. TIME and What’s on Netflix also differ in their wider lists; What’s on Netflix, for example, includes additional titles such as A Chaster Marriage, Good Game: The Beginning and The 12th Man.

What’s on Netflix explicitly framed its calendar for the United States. Netflix catalogs differ by country, so these dates should not be treated as a worldwide release schedule. TIME’s roundup is a contemporaneous source for date anchors, but its surfaced article text does not explicitly establish territory. Neither source is an official Netflix master archive, and the available schedules do not settle every title’s arrival or historical availability by region.
