Netflix announced eight new documentary titles for 2025 on January 30, 2025: five documentary films and three documentary series. The list was part of a broader slate announcement, not a complete inventory of every documentary Netflix released or planned for the year.
Netflix’s eight documentary announcements for 2025
Netflix’s January 30 announcement grouped the titles by format. It supplied release timing for four of the eight entries: three specific dates and one month-long window.

What the list does—and does not—cover
These eight entries were new documentary title announcements within Netflix’s wider 2025 slate. They should not be read as the service’s only documentaries for the year. A separate July 2025 article covered another August release group, further illustrating that the January list was not a full-year catalog.
