Yes—Naughty America said in 2019 that its AR performer experience used prerecorded volumetric video captures, not computer-generated characters. The company described performers that viewers could see from different angles in a room, using a phone or other supported device. That is a historical account, not confirmation that the experience or its listed device support remains available today.
What “volumetric video” meant in this experience
Conventional video records a flat image from one camera viewpoint. Volumetric video captures a moving subject as three-dimensional content, so a viewer can see the subject from different positions. A 2023 survey describes the broader technology pipeline as capture, compression, transmission, rendering and display; it does not independently assess Naughty America’s implementation or its visual quality. Read the survey.
At CES in January 2019, CEO Andreas Hronopoulos told VentureBeat that the company had moved away from an earlier computer-graphics approach because realistic digital performers were difficult to produce. He said Naughty America had “settled on holograms in a strip club for AR, with volumetric video captures instead of computer graphics.” He also said the experience was included in the company’s strip-club offering. These were executive statements reported by VentureBeat, not an independent technical audit. VentureBeat’s January 10, 2019 report.
How viewers saw the performers
In a March 2019 follow-up, VentureBeat characterized the “holograms” as prerecorded video experiences viewers could walk around and view in a room. Users could scan a space and superimpose performers into it. Hronopoulos described it as “a prerecorded video experience that you can walk around in and experience.” In other words, the reports describe recorded content positioned for viewing from different angles—not a live performer, a responsive character, or a free-standing optical projection. - 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Did it require a VR headset?
No headset was required according to VentureBeat’s 2019 account. It listed Android, iOS through a third-party browser, desktop and laptop computers, tablets, HTC Vive and Oculus Rift among the reported access options. The article said that iOS users could access about 50 holograms through a third-party browser. Those platforms and catalog details describe what was reported at the time; they should not be treated as current compatibility or catalog information.
How the 2019 experience differs from 2026 “Shows”
In January 2026, XBIZ reported that Naughty America had launched a newer AR video format called “Shows” on Real Girls Now, initially featuring Audrey Bitoni, Cubbi Thompson, Kayla Kayden, Ryan Keely and Krystal Sparks. That report does not say Shows uses volumetric capture, identify its supported devices, or establish whether the earlier hologram experience remains available. The two reports therefore describe distinct offerings, and the later announcement is not evidence that the 2019 production method continued. XBIZ’s January 13, 2026 report.

What the reports establish—and what they do not
- Established for 2019: Naughty America said it used volumetric video rather than computer-generated performers, and VentureBeat described the result as prerecorded, walk-around content.
- Historical, not current: The about-50 catalog figure and the named browser, phone, computer and headset options come from 2019 reporting.
- Not established: The available reports do not verify current availability, present-day device compatibility, pricing, capture-consent procedures, age-verification controls or privacy practices.
- Separate 2026 update: XBIZ reported the “Shows” format on Real Girls Now, but did not specify volumetric capture or access requirements.
