Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Naughty Dog’s next game and a new science-fiction franchise in development for PlayStation 5. Its story follows bounty hunter Jordan A. What is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet about?
Naughty Dog announced the game on December 12, 2024, describing it as a new franchise and its next game, in development for PS5. The studio says work began in 2020. Its setting is thousands of years in the future, according to the official PlayStation UK listing.
The central character is Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter played by Tati Gabrielle. She is stranded on Sempiria, a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. Jordan hopes to become the first person in more than 600 years to leave the planet’s orbit, according to Naughty Dog’s announcement.
What does Naughty Dog mean by “wildest game yet”?
The wording in the headline is a shortened version of what Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog’s studio head, wrote in the 2024 announcement: “This game is shaping up to be our wildest, most creative story yet.” It is a statement about the story and the studio’s own expectations. It does not establish that the finished game will objectively be the studio’s wildest, nor does it describe every aspect of gameplay.

Druckmann also said Naughty Dog was aiming for “the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog’s history,” drawing on lessons from its previous franchises. That, too, is a studio ambition rather than an independently assessed result. The official material available so far does not provide a detailed public breakdown of combat, exploration, or other systems.
Is Intergalactic coming to PS5?
Yes. PS5 is the platform identified in Naughty Dog’s announcement and on the PlayStation UK game listing. The available official information does not confirm other platforms. The listing gives the release date as “To be confirmed”; it does not establish a price, edition, or preorder.

When will Naughty Dog show the game again?
On September 28, 2026, Druckmann said Naughty Dog would be quiet about Intergalactic for the rest of that year and would fully reveal the game in 2027, including a proper look at Jordan’s adventure.
