A fan-maintained character profile lists him as 12–13 in Part I, 15–17 in Part II (Shippuden), 19–21 during the blank period, and 32–33 in Boruto. Those are era-wide ranges, not one fixed age for every scene; the official franchise overview anchors the opening but does not publish a complete age chart.
Naruto’s age by story era
| Era | Age commonly listed | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Opening and Part I | About 12 at the opening; 12–13 across Part I | The official overview says the Nine-Tailed Fox attacked the village 12 years before the story’s present and places Naruto’s academy graduation among the opening events. The 12–13 range comes from a secondary character profile. NARUTO OFFICIAL SITE; Boruto Wiki. |
| Part II / Shippuden | 15–17 | This is the range listed by the secondary profile; the official overview does not provide an age for every arc or event. Boruto Wiki. |
| Blank period | 19–21 | The secondary profile gives this range, but the available sources do not assign every event in the interval to a particular birthday. Boruto Wiki. |
| Boruto | 32–33 | The secondary profile lists this range. The official overview places Naruto in the peaceful post-war sequel setting as Seventh Hokage; VIZ identifies Boruto as his son. Boruto Wiki; NARUTO OFFICIAL SITE; VIZ. |
How old is Naruto in Part I?
Naruto is about 12 at the opening of the original series. The official overview provides the story anchor: the Nine-Tailed Fox attacked the village 12 years before the present story, and Naruto graduates from the academy during the opening events. A secondary character profile lists his age across Part I as 12–13. That span accounts for the era rather than establishing that he is 12 in every scene.

How old is Naruto in Shippuden?
For Part II, also known as Shippuden, the secondary profile lists Naruto as 15–17. Because that range covers an era rather than a single moment, it is more accurate than assigning one age to all of Shippuden. The official overview does not publish a full age-by-arc chart.
How old is Naruto during the blank period?
The same profile lists Naruto as 19–21 during the blank period between the main story and the Boruto-era setting. The available sources do not pin every event in that interval to a specific birthday, so treat the figures as a broad period range rather than an exact age for any one event.

How old is Naruto in Boruto?
The secondary profile lists Naruto as 32–33 in Boruto. The official franchise overview confirms his later role as Seventh Hokage in the post-war sequel setting, and VIZ describes Boruto as his son. Those sources establish the sequel context, but the detailed 32–33 age range is secondary-source data, not a complete official age chart.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why does Naruto’s age change across the series?
The story moves through distinct periods in Naruto’s life, and an era can span more than one birthday. That is why reference profiles commonly give age ranges rather than one number for an entire part. A range should not be mistaken for a claim that every arc has a separately confirmed age.
Rank #2
There is also a difference in source authority. The official overview supports the opening timeline and Naruto’s sequel-era role, but does not list every age. The specific ranges above come from a fan-maintained Boruto Wiki character profile, so they should be described as commonly listed profile data rather than official confirmation. For readers who want to follow the story itself, VIZ’s Naruto manga catalog provides a route to the manga volumes; it is not an age-reference chart.
