Nathan Morris returned to Nova 93.7’s Perth breakfast show on 5 May 2025 after more than three months away. He said a major personal matter had begun the previous year and resurfaced in 2025, but that legal proceedings meant he could not discuss it further. Morris added that the proceedings “got nothing to do with me.”
What Morris said when he returned
On his first show back, Morris described the issue as a significant personal matter. As quoted by PerthNow on 5 May 2025, he said: “Something happened in my personal life that was one of these monumental things that happens that you can’t really process.”
He said it began the previous year and resurfaced in 2025: “I can’t speak too much about it because there is legal proceedings that’s got nothing to do with me but I cannot speak about it because of that.” Morris did not identify the matter or explain the proceedings. His statement is the limit of what can be established from the report; it does not support speculation about what happened or who else may have been involved.
What Nova said during his absence
In March 2025, Nova told PerthNow that Morris was on personal leave for the current survey period, while Nat Locke and Shaun McManus continued hosting the weekday breakfast show. The station said: “Nathan will be on personal leave from the breakfast show for the current survey period. Nat and Shaun will continue to co-host the show while Nathan takes a break,” as reported by PerthNow.
